The conversion is laid out over three floors with a garage, workshop and entrance hall on the ground floor, master bedroom, full height lounge, kitchen and bathroom on the second floor and on the third level a second bedroom with a bridge over the lounge leading onto a galleried snug area.
Having started the project working with the clients’ then architect it soon became apparent that the plans contained major flaws. We immediately bought this to the attention of our client, and liaised with our own architect who rectified the problems, had the plans approved and we continued with the build just three weeks later.
The client was heavily involved in their project, making many changes and decisions along the way. He also incorporated some of his own bespoke joinery work and worked together with our team to complete a stunning conversion complete with the ‘WOW’ factor.
The client was very keen to achieve a traditional cottage style finish with sponge finished plaster and free hand corners, pammet cills and pitch pine flooring.
This was combined with a modern twist of stainless steel and glass balustrade, a bespoke leaded roof light which allows the light to flood into the top floors, and gloss finish kitchen units with a bespoke handmade one piece stainless steel worktop.
Although this project ran over schedule and suffered the initial unexpected delay, the client was happier that we carried out all the changes he made and took the time to ensure that we achieved the look and standard that he was aiming for. By working together with our client and suppliers this project also came in under budget!
This project is yet another successful example of the close working relationships we build with our clients and the standards that can be achieved. Communication is of fundamental importance to us, and our flexible approach allows each individual client as little or as much input into their project, creates a trust, and ensures we work together to achieve the finish you aspire to.
